AIS Italy is the most important of sommelier Association Italy. AND’ was founded on 7 July 1965 and the 6 April 1973, with Decree No. 539 the President of the Republic, has obtained the legal recognition of the State. It counts today about 35.000 members and his prize Best Sommelier in Italy is the most coveted of all. This year, the meeting to elect the new best sommelier is set for December 1st. For the third consecutive year, I am honoured to participate in the jury.

Are eight wine stewards who passed the selections held in Milan and Rome
October. To these are added the regional champions 2014 already admitted in law
the competition.
Monday, December 1, will be held in the morning semi-finals and behind closed doors in the afternoon
the same day the three best will give life to the finals that will assign to the sample
the Italian tricolour tastevin.
The three professionals who will go up on stage will be involved individually in a series
of difficult trials open to the public: the tasting, organoleptic description and the
recognition of three wines; the tasting, decanting and a red wine;
the greeting of the customers and order intake in foreign languages (in English or in French, to
choice of individual); a food and wine pairing, reasons for choosing; a test of
communication from the Commission-assigned track judges.

The test for each competitor will run for 40 minutes.

The appointment is for 15 in Milan in the spaces of the hotel The Westin Palace,
Piazza della Repubblica 20 (Mm3 Republic).
