Was the spiciest of the planet by a Committee of experts of New Mexico State University's Chile Pepper Institute.

As big as a golf ball, the King of chillies is the Moruga, Trinidad Scorpion a native of the island of Trinidad and has won the title with record score 1.4 million on the Scoville scale (see end of page scale).

This scale measures the hotness of chillies in the amount of capsacinoidi — the element that gives the feeling of hotness – present in a product.

To get an idea of the devastating force of a Moruga, Trinidad Scorpion, suffice it to say that the average chili, that normally used in cooking, has a strength of 5000 Scoville.
