On the occasion of Expo 2015, dedicated to the theme "feeding the planet, energy for life ", Verona will host one of the most significant cultural events organized outside Milan: the exhibition-event "art and wine". The exhibition will be held in the Gran Guardia 4 April to 2 August 2015. The exhibition, divided into thematic sections in relation between them, Therefore the lead theme of myth, where is the ambivalent figure of Bacchus, God of drunkenness and insanity, but also labour and land productivity, and patron of the arts and creativity, the religion with the stories of the old and New Testaments interpreted by creativity and by the brush of the great masters; from the pleasures of meeting, of the senses and of attendance, passing for those dedicated to the work and to the flow of the seasons evoked in many depictions from the middle ages to the twentieth century.
The exhibition will be curated by Annalisa Scarpa and Nicola Spinosa and will be divided into five sections. Large, and recall, names that will find space in Gran Guardia. Some works come from the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, visited for the first time in Italy: Caravaggio, Rubens, Tintoretto, Tiziano, Francisco Goya, Umberto Boccioni, Fortunato Depero, Renato Guttuso, Picasso, Magritte, Degas, Manet, and yet Giovanni Bellini, Arcimboldo, Sebastiano Ricci, Guido Reni, Annibale Carracci, Lucas Cranach, Poussin.
