Jef Versele is the sixth generation Brewmaster of Brewery Van Steenberge, on the outskirts of Ghent. Not only his brewery has perfected the art of producing specialty beers, but he himself undertook personally to keep the old recipe of St. Stefanus. For those who don't know, St. Stefanus is an Abbey beer dating back to the middle ages, al natural 100%, unpasteurized, not filtered high fermentation and. This Belgian beer is produced with three different yeasts, one of which is the original strain from the Sint Jerumanus Stefanus. Each bottle is left to mature in the cellar for a minimum of three months, then the fermentation continues until its opening.
Jef Versele will be in Italy, in Rome and Milan, first person to lead two must-see tasting. Wednesday, 26 June the Brewmaster, at the Sundowner, starting from 19.30 will be available to guests of Etablì cow alley, 9 in the heart of Rome.
Thursday, 27 June will be the turn of Milan: at 20.30 the bistro Anadima Via Pavia, 10 is planning a theme dinner with a menu declined on different maturities of St. Stefanus proposals in combination with individual capacities, from appetizer to dessert.
